The kayak trip is made
for a large sportive public. You don't need
previous experience for the proposed trip. The water
level and difficulty level will be taken in account
for each part of the trip.
The guide will join the
group for each trip.
The kayaks are 1 person Prijon
instruction kayaks, light and stable boats, ideal for the big
public.
The best time of the year for kayaking is late
spring when the rivers are still swollen with the
waters from the melting snow in the mountains, but
they are not dangerously violent anymore.
You make a roundtrip in the middle and
northern part of Transylvania. The kayaks are
transported on a trailer behind the bus. This gives
us the flexibility to divert in case the water
levels are too high or too low.
Practical:
The trip takes place on several rivers in
Transylvania. We start on the Aries River and make
the first trip between Sartas and Posaga. The river
is wide and hasn't much difficult passages,
perfectly for beginners. The next day it goes
further on the Aries River till Buru.
Second part of the trip will be at the upper part
of the Mures River, between the towns Reghin and
Toplita.
The third part of the trip will be along the
Golden Bistrita River between Jacobeni and Borsa.
Accommodation will be provided in hotel rooms
with bathroom.
All transfers are made by minibus.
The program:
Day 1
Arrival in Cluj Napoca and transfer to
Salciua
along the Aries river where you stay for the first 2
nights
Day 2
Kayak trip on the Aries River between
Sartas and Salciua. Accommodation in Salciua.
Day 3
Kayak trip on the Aries River till Buru and transfer to
Reghin, accommodation in hotel rooms in Reghin
Day 4
Kayak trip on the Mures River. Accommodation in
Toplita
Day 5
Kayak trip on the Mures + transfer to Vatra
Dornei
Day 6
Kayak trip on the Golden Bistrita River,
Accommodation in Borsa
Day 7
Kayak trip on the golden Bistrita River +
transfer Cluj Napoca, accommodation in Cluj Napoca
Day 8
The program ends after breakfast
